The Organisation

The Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia Limited (AHCSA) is the peak body representing Aboriginal community-controlled health and substance misuse services in South Australia at state and national levels.

Our primary role is to be the 'health voice' for all Aboriginal people in South Australia. We achieve this by advocating for the community and supporting workers through our Member Services with appropriate Aboriginal health programs based on a holistic perspective of health.

Summary of the Role

The Health Infomatics Coordinator is responsible for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare data and IT systems through Member Services. Duties will include:

  • Assisting Member Services to utilise data analytics to improve access to timely health information through collecting and creating dashboards that support decision making
  • Validating health data relating to state and national reporting requirements, ensuring data is accurate and useable
  • Supporting with the training and development of key leaders – focused on data quality improvement
  • Providing advice relating to data literacy, data analysis, national KPI and reporting functions, data systems, and security
  • Communicating and consulting with key stakeholders – internally at AHCSA and across member organisations to determine bespoke requirements & then deliver on appropriate solutions

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience in data collection, data cleansing, data analysis and interpretation
  • Experience in the use of statistic software packages such as STATA or SPSS
  • Experience in building dashboards using Power BI that are connected to key data sources
  • Previous experience conveying data in a way that demonstrates cultural competence
  • Experience explaining data and dashboards to stakeholders to improve data literacy
  • Previous experience working within healthcare, state/federal government or Aboriginal organisations will be highly regarded
