About the Role

As a Youth Worker, you will provide safe, nurturing, and supportive care for children and young people in our residential settings. You'll act as a positive role model and help young people develop essential life skills and build confidence.

We have multiple casual positions available and are seeking dedicated Youth Workers who are passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people living in Out-of-Home Care, including both residential and foster care settings.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires flexibility — our Youth Workers must be available to work a range of shifts, including days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, sleepovers, and active nights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build safe, trusting relationships with children and young people through active engagement.
  • Be a positive adult role model and encourage involvement in meaningful activities.
  • Promote positive relationships with family members, peers, and support networks.
  • Support family visits and connection where appropriate.
  • Empower young people to actively participate in decisions about their daily lives and activities.

About You

To be considered for paid employment as a Youth Worker in Queensland, you must:

  • Have completed (or be actively working toward) a relevant qualification – minimum Certificate IV. Not sure if your qualification is eligible? Check:
  • Hold an Unrestricted Driver's Licence (essential)
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Be committed to child safety, trauma-informed practice, and inclusion

  2. Reference Checks – Focused on working with children and young people
  3. National Police Check – Paid for by LWB
  4. Blue Card – Apply if you don't already hold one
  5. Hope & Healing Training – If successful we will set you up an account. Must be completed prior to commencement
