Caloundra City Private School (CCPS) is an independent, co-educational school located in the heart of Pelican Waters on the Sunshine Coast. We are seeking applications for an innovative and relational Legal Studies and Business Teacher to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to teach across a range of subjects.

The Opportunity

As part of a small, agile teaching team, you will design learning that connects classroom content to the real world - igniting curiosity, critical thinking, and civic engagement. You will have the freedom to create, collaborate, and ensure that students remain at the center of every learning experience.

You are an educator who:

  • Thinks entrepreneurially, seeing opportunity and innovation within the curriculum.
  • Is community-oriented, building authentic connections between students, families, and the broader world.
  • Keeps students at the heart of learning, designing experiences that promote inquiry, empathy, and active citizenship.
  • Has familiarity with the Alternative Sequence Syllabus in Business Studies and a genuine interest in contextualizing business education for diverse learner pathways.
  • Thrives in a collaborative, future-focused team environment.
  • Understands the importance of personalised learning and the joy of human connection in education.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

  • Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in the Legal and Business learning area (or related fields).
  • Demonstrated capacity to design engaging, conceptually rich, and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Familiarity with QCAA curriculum and assessment requirements, including the Alternative Sequence Syllabus in Business Studies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a willingness to contribute to the broader life and culture of the school.

Preferred Skills and Desirable Attributes

  • Experience integrating Legal Studies and Business learning with cross-curricular or project-based approaches.
  • Confidence using Canvas LMS, digital learning tools, and contemporary pedagogies.
  • Ability to link Legal Studies and Business learning with community partnerships or local contexts, IDEAS Program, or Classroom Connect opportunities.
  • A reflective mindset and commitment to ongoing professional learning.
