About the position

The Labourer (Cemeteries) position
carries out specialised tasks as they relate to the operation of a
cemetery.

This position works under general
supervision.

  • The base wage rate for
    this position is $1,232.68 gross per week, plus 17.5%
    annual leave loading and up to 12.65%
    superannuation.
  • This is a Permanent
    Full time position based at the Drayton and Toowoomba
    Cemetery.

Criteria

  1. Hold the mandatory
    qualification(s), training and/or experience, as outlined under
    the 'Success Criteria' in the
    Position Description.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work with necessary plant and
    equipment at a cemetery.
  3. Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain plant /
    machinery consistent with qualifications held / required to the
    principles of best practice and Council standards.
  4. Excellent time management skills to manage competing
    priorities in a busy environment.
  5. Ability to provide attention to detail in all tasks
    undertaken – at times with limited supervision or
    direction.
  6. Demonstrated ability to understand directions and to
    communicate professionally with internal and external
    stakeholders.
  7. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to
    provide timely advice in a helpful, empathic, and sincere
    manner.
  8. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team
    environment and take directions.
  9. Understanding of and
    commitment to Council's Organisational Value and
    Behaviour of Respect.
