The Heights Technical College will be a visionary institution that aims to revolutionise technical education in South Australia. The State Government is investing in Technical Colleges that will set the standard for excellence in their design, learning environment and delivery of skills-based training for school-enrolled students.

The Heights Technical College is planned to open in 2026 and will be co-located with The Heights School. The students at the technical college can get a head start to a career in 1 of 4 in-demand industry specialisations, which include: Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, Aeroskills (aviation maintenance), Building and Construction, and Early Childhood and Education. The college will partner with high-profile employers, training providers and higher education partners.

We are searching for an exceptional Youth Worker to join our dynamic team and make a positive impact on our students.

What You Will Do

• Support wellbeing and safety of students in the technical college
• Develop and implement student support plans in collaboration with enrolled students
• Work as part of Industry Specialisation Teams with a focus on wellbeing, coaching and support services
• Collaborate with schools, staff, families and external providers to support student success

What You Will Need

• Demonstrated ability to use a range of effective communication skills when working with young people, their teachers, parents/carers and external stakeholders to improve their participation, engagement and achievement in their industry pathway.
• Demonstrated experience in achieving educational outcomes for young people through effective wellbeing strategies
• Demonstrated experience in providing a quality student support service for young people who experience mental health, learning, wellbeing or social barriers to their education to improve their participation, engagement and achievement in schooling.
