THE ROLE OF MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST
As a Medical Receptionist you will be responsible for creating a comfortable experience for all clients, attending to the requests of our practitioners and all front of house duties.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Answering telephone and email requests for appointment bookings, cancellations, reschedules and other requests.
- Handling all incoming and outgoing correspondence and distributing to practitioners accordingly.
- Greeting clients and assisting them throughout their time at the clinic.
- Management of 10+ practitioner diaries.
- Processing HICAPS claims, Medicare claims, EFTPOS/Cash transactions as well as invoicing and general accounts duties.
- Maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the clinic.
- Always maintain confidentiality regarding clients and practitioners.
It is also expected that you will maintain a high level of skill within this role or be very willing to learn at a fast pace. Please see list of following skills required for this role:
- High level of communication skills, both written and verbal complimented by a friendly tone of voice.
- Computer and IT skills: use of payment processing machines, Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel), navigation of diary system (Nookal).
- Attention to detail while multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to time manage and organise a busy schedule.
- Interpersonal skills and an understanding for people from all walks of life.
- Competent in problem solving and reasoning.
Experience with the following is advantageous however not necessary for application:
- Nookal Diary Management Software
- HICAPS and EFTPOS processing
- Knowledge of Allied Health Care
- Previous receptionist experience
