Are you a highly organized and driven individual looking to launch your career in Construction Project Management? We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Junior Project Coordinator/Intern to support our team across a portfolio of challenging and rewarding refurbishment projects throughout New South Wales (NSW).
This is an in-person, site-based role with mandatory travel across multiple project locations.
The Role
As a Junior Project Coordinator/Intern, you will work closely with Project Managers and Site Supervisors, providing essential support to ensure our construction refurbishment projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Administration & Documentation:
Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date project files, including contracts, drawings, specifications, and permits.
Manage and track RFI's (Requests for Information), submittals, and change orders.
Prepare, distribute, and archive project correspondence and meeting minutes.
Scheduling & Coordination:
Assist in monitoring project schedules and tracking progress against milestones.
Help coordinate site meetings, trade contractor activities, and material deliveries across various sites.
Communicate regularly with internal teams, sub-contractors, and stakeholders.
Project Management & Reporting (Mandatory):
Assist in developing and maintaining project management tools (e.g., tracking logs, progress reports).
Collect, compile, and prepare accurate weekly and monthly project progress reports for management.
Track project costs and assist with basic budget control and invoice processing.
Site Support & Travel (Mandatory):
Travel regularly to project sites across various locations in NSW (valid driver's license and reliable transport required).
Assist with site setup and closeout procedures as required.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and documentation on-site.
What We're Looking For
Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Mandatory Skills:
Demonstrated understanding of fundamental Project Management principles and methodologies.
Proven ability to create, maintain, and present clear and concise project reports.
Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general project software.
Advantageous Skills:
A foundational understanding of the construction industry, including terminology, processes, and typical project lifecycle (especially refurbishment).
Experience with project scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) is a plus.
Personal Attributes:
A proactive, 'can-do' attitude and a strong desire to learn.
Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
High level of personal responsibility and integrity.
Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively within NSW.
