The Opportunity

We're seeking a passionate VET Educator in the Sydney area to deliver Certificate III in School Based Education Support (CHC30221) to Year 11 students in 2026. This HSC-integrated program combines classroom learning with real workplace experience, setting students up for immediate employment or further study.

Educators will deliver weekly learning content and assessment guidance sessions in a classroom environment during school terms and be available for individual support via phone, email and online during agreed hours.

Based at schools within the Parramatta and Newcastle region, our learners will commence Year 11 in February 2026 and complete this course as part of their HSC studies.

The ideal candidate will bring with them a blend of training delivery and industry experience.

• Location: Greater Sydney and Newcastle regions (Location flexible on a hybrid working arrangement) – work from home when not working at the schools.
• Work Type: Contractor or Part time arrangement available
• Appointment commencing: Looking to commence in January 2026.
• Salary: $89,000 FTE + super + motor vehicle allowance (based on experience) – pro-rated in line with Part-time hours

What you'll be doing

• Inspiring young learners through engaging weekly face-to-face workshops using UNE Partnerships' proven curriculum

• Mentoring students during their practical work placements in real school environments

• Assessing student work with constructive feedback that builds confidence and competence

• Providing personalised support via phone, email and online platforms to ensure every student succeeds

• Developing tailored Learning Support Plans for students with diverse needs

• Proactively connecting with at-risk students to help them overcome barriers and stay on track

• Collaborating with school staff and UNE Partnerships team to create seamless learning experiences

About you

Essential Requirements:

Trainer credentials (you must have one of the following)

1. TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent; and/or
2. A higher qualification in the field of adult or vocational education, or
3. Tertiary qualification in Secondary Teaching and minimum TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set

Required qualifications:

• CHC40221 Certificate IV in School Based Education Support (or higher)

Skills and Experience

• Recent, substantial experience working as a teacher's aide or in education support roles
• Demonstrated experience working with students in educational environments
• Genuine passion for empowering young people
• Driver's licence and willingness to travel between school sites

Highly Valued

• Experience delivering VET programs to school-based learners
• Confidence with digital learning platforms (Moodle, Teams, etc)
• Certificate IV or Diploma in Early Childhood Education
• Understanding of diverse learning needs and engagement strategies

Please note: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an 'employee' Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
