Maintenance Superintendent

Castlereagh Coal is an Australian family owned and operated resources company. We run open cut coal mines at Invincible Colliery and Cullen Valley, near the township of Cullen Bullen, approximately 20kms north of Lithgow. The mines operate a range of Caterpillar and Hitachi equipment including excavators, bulldozers, front end loaders, and rigid / articulated dump trucks.

A brief description of our operation.

· A small and dynamic excavator/truck mining operation, mining over underground workings.

· Approximately 20 mobile plant units operating.

· Progressively rehabilitating old workings.

· Dayshift only operations.

· Operating an equal opportunity workplace.

Roles and Responsibilities

· Lead day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring reliability, safety, and quality.

· Manage budgets, schedules, resources, and KPIs.

· Provide strong leadership to crews and peers.

· Liaise with other departments to maximise equipment availability.

· Maintain client relationships and manage contractors.

· Drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with site requirements

· Implement and improve preventative maintenance strategies to avoid foreseeable breakdowns

· Ensure introduced equipment is fit for use

· Manage Long / Short term planning / Preventative maintenance

· Implementation of Asset health and continuous improvement initiatives

· Forecast maintenance budgets

· Ability to use MEX, set up and maintain ongoing site maintenance records

· Build relationships with offsite vendors – Priority service / discount rates

· The position will be to support a 7 day-dayshift operation, typically a Monday to Friday roster, reporting to the General Manager.

Qualifications and skills:

· Plant mechanic trade or similar, maintenance experience and Asset management

· Proven leadership in maintenance in mining or industrial setting

· Contractor management experience

· Health and Safety knowledge

· Degree in Mechanical or Engineering (desirable)

· Cert IV – Frontline management (desirable)

· Certificate of Competence for NSW Mechanical Engineer (desirable)
