Recovery Worker
At Richmind WA, we're leading the transformation of mental health in Western Australia — one person, one relationship, one breakthrough at a time.
As a Recovery Worker, you'll walk alongside people living with mental distress as they build the skills, supports and confidence to pursue the life they want. You'll be part of our Commonwealth Psychosocial Support (CPS) team, supporting individuals to manage daily activities, identify their individual goals and improve capacity towards achievement, build social and community connections, and navigate pathways like the NDIS.
This isn't clinical work — it's human-to-human, community-based support, grounded in empathy and respect. If you're passionate about recovery, community, and walking beside people as they grow — this could be your next step.
What you'll do:
- Build trusting, respectful relationships with people accessing CPS support
- Develop and deliver individualised recovery plans focused on people's strengths, goals, and needs
- Support individuals through the NDIS access and planning process, including gathering evidence and attending meetings
- Help people build their capacity for daily living, social interaction, education, and employment
- Link individuals with other services, supports, and local opportunities
- Collaborate with families, carers, and service providers to support holistic outcomes
- Work a fixed 75-hour fortnight (Monday to Friday, business hours)
- Use your own vehicle to travel between participants (mileage reimbursed). Most travel will be within 30 minutes of each location.
About you:
We're looking for people who are passionate about mental health recovery, community connection, and walking alongside others. You'll ideally bring:
- A diploma or higher qualification in Mental Health, Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field
- Experience working in mental health, community services or psychosocial support services
- A sound understanding of recovery principles and trauma-informed practice
- Knowledge of (or interest in learning about) the NDIS and access process
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across cultures and communities
- The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
