We are looking for a sewing machinist who wants to work in a busy, friendly, collaborative environment. The role is perfect for you if you are keen to learn, have a proactive mindset, and love sewing. Whilst the role is ideally full-time, we are flexible for the right candidate and the role is for an immediate start if possible.

You will be trained in making flags using our patterns and templates. You will be working as part of the team to produce predominantly fully sewn flags, so you will need to be a cooperative team player. You are required to cut out the fabric and follow the patterns to complete the flags. We place great value on aptitude as we can train the rest, as we know that making flags will not be something you have experience in. Our staff have come from a range of sewing backgrounds, from bridal and tailoring to curtains and swimming costumes, so long as you have used a commercial machine and have adaptable skills we can show you the rest.

We are a flag-making business that has been manufacturing in Australia for over 117 years. We are looking for a hardworking team player who prides themselves on their workmanship and excellent attention to detail and enjoys working at a fast pace.

Skills and experience

You will need to have experience with industrial machines and the ability to follow patterns and apply your sewing skills to new challenges. Any flag-making experience would be a wonderful asset, but not required, as we will provide training. Experience in cutting and/or pattern making would be highly desirable.

A minimum of 1-2 years of experience with commercial sewing machines is required for this position.

Candidates must have valid Australian work rights, including valid work visa holders.
