About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Grade 2 Social Worker to join our Wantirna Health Allied Health Dept. Wantirna Health West Ward is an innovative ward with a dedicated team that provide services to GEM patients as well as NDIS participants. This role is supported by a site based social work team and Senior Social Workers, as well as a dynamic muti-disciplinary team. This role offers an opportunity for the Social Worker to learn and grow their clinical skills in a supportive environment that includes supervision and professional development opportunities.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Eligibility for membership of the AASW
• Experience in a hospital setting
• Highly developed interpersonal skills
• A strong commitment to high quality care
• The ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team and also work autonomously as required
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Excellent risk assessment skills
• The ability to lead complex discharge planning
• Conflict resolution skills

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
