In this role, you'll:

Work as part of our Data Switched Networks team, who undertake installation and maintenance of data networks infrastructure, providing services to operational technology systems throughout Sydney Trains.

You will deliver, whole of life operation and maintenance of such infrastructure, including the rectification of complex level two and three failures to assets within service level targets. You will also undertake the maintenance and implementation of Sydney Train's data communications backbone, Wide Area Network, and point to point data services & infrastructure to support Sydney Train's operationally critical functions.

You will manage front line tasks associated with the delivery of the Asset Management Plan, including the management of asset information, system and network audits and the identification potential failure trends, making recommendation for system improvements as required.

About you

You are an experienced Data Networks Technical Specialist who has Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in either Telecommunications / Information Technology (IT) / Electronics / Electrical engineering. You will also have proven experience in the delivery and maintenance of operational telecommunications and in high level maintenance and support of operational data networks.

You will ideally have Industry Certifications in IT / Telecommunications / Data Networks (recommended certifications include CCNA, CCNP). Knowledge and high level of operational expertise in telecommunications, and networking disciplines, including network protocols, LAN and WAN topology, point-to-point and data networking will be highly regarded.
