Coxswain Grade I

Are you a skilled Coxswain with a passion for the water and a strong knowledge of Port Phillip Bay? Join a busy, fast-paced dive charter operation this summer and be part of a dynamic, professional team offering world-class diving experiences.

We operate a fleet of three 12m vessels and have an exciting summer season ahead – and we're looking for the right person to help deliver safe, reliable, and memorable trips on the water.

About the Role:

• Operate dive charter vessels across Port Phillip Bay
• Ensure safe vessel operation and passenger safety during trips
• Assist in basic vessel maintenance and readiness
• Liaise with dive professionals and clients to ensure smooth operations
• Potential to be involved in commercial diving and marine construction projects as they arise
• 15–30 hours per week, primarily during the busy summer season (December to April), with ongoing opportunities for the right candidate
• Must be available to work weekends and weekdays

Essential Requirements:

• Coxswain Grade I (NC) Certificate
• Minimum 3 years commercial vessel experience
• Extensive local knowledge of Port Phillip Bay (LK15 preferred)
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit team
• A strong safety-first mindset
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Availability during peak periods (including public holidays)

Desirable:

• First Aid & Oxygen Provider Certification
• Dive industry experience or qualifications
• Marine radio operator's certificate
• Mechanical aptitude or basic vessel maintenance skills
• Interest or experience in commercial diving or marine construction

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $35.00 – $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
