We're a fast-growing solar energy sales business helping Aussie homeowners transition to clean, sustainable energy – and we're on the hunt for an Accounts Clerk to join our Finance team.

This is more than just a numbers role – you'll be the backbone of our financial operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly, accurately, and on time.

The Role

The Accounts Clerk is responsible for supporting the day to day financial operations of the business, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions. Working within the finance team of a fast growing solar energy sales business, this role assists with accounts payable, accounts receivable, data entry, bank reconciliations, and general accounting support.

The Accounts Clerk plays a key part in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the broader finance function to enable effective business operations and customer satisfaction.

As the Accounts Clerk, you will be responsible for:
  • Process supplier invoices for solar panels, batteries, installation services, and equipment
  • Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on discrepancies
  • Prepare payment runs and ensure timely processing in line with terms
  • Generate and send customer invoices for solar system sales and services
  • Allocate incoming payments and monitor outstanding balances
  • Follow up with customers on overdue accounts and assist with queries
  • Reconcile credit card and petty cash transactions
  • Assist with month end reconciliations and reporting
  • Accurately enter and maintain financial data in the accounting system (e.g., Xero, MYOB)
  • File and organise invoices, receipts, and supporting documents for audits and compliance
  • Support the Finance Manager or Accountant with ad hoc financial tasks and reporting
  • Assist in preparing documentation for BAS and external audits
  • Liaise with internal teams (sales, operations, customer service) to resolve invoice or payment issues

What You Bring:
  • Certificate III or IV in Accounting,
  • Bookkeeping or related field (minimum)1–2 years' experience in a similar finance/accounts role (solar, energy or construction industry preferred)
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel and general office software
Vauluable Skills and Attributes:
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communicationA proactive, team oriented approachEnthusiasm for sustainability and the renewable energy sector (desirable)
