About the role:

We are currently seeking experienced dewatering technicians for a permanent, full-time position on a 2:1 FIFO roster from Perth – day/night shift.

The Requirements

  • The ideal candidate for this position will be experienced in the following:
  • Manage, install, repair and monitor dewatering infrastructure including pumps (diesel and electric), bores, poly pipeline while following policies and procedures;
  • Conduct daily prestart inspections of the dewatering infrastructure;
  • Carry out fault-finding, diagnosis/repair, and preventative maintenance of all pumps, and all dewatering infrastructure;
  • Moving and installing pumps as required in open pit changing conditions;
  • Installation and removal production bores, sump/transfer pumps;
  • Managing pump pressures and flows to ensure pumps stay within pump curve
  • Installation of sumps with excavator;
  • Check, maintain and operate the plant in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Operation Manuals;
  • Undertake Pre-start inspections of the equipment;
  • Operate equipment and sump locations as directed by the Supervisor;
  • Follow road rules; Correct speed and correct radio procedures;
  • Familiarise yourself with site specific geographical layout & emergency procedures;
  • Maintain machine logs;
  • Complete documentation for pre-starts, time sheets, incident statements, JHA's, Take 5's, BOB's or client equivalent;
  • Provide information on job and equipment status to Supervisor;
  • Report to a senior official any unsafe condition or act that has caused or may cause injury/incident to equipment or personnel;
  • Storage of supplies and miscellaneous duties
  • Provide information on job and equipment status to Superintendent, Supervisor, Operators and Mine Control;
  • Undertake training as directed by Carey; and
  • Perform any other duties as directed, within your level of competence

Experience Required

  • 2 years' experience in managing, install, repair and monitor dewatering infrastructure including pumps (diesel and electric), bores, poly pipelines in the mining / resources sector;
  • Experience operating Caterpillar plant;
  • Butt weld polyethylene plastic pipelines

Qualifications Required

  • Current and Valid driver's licence - HR Class Driver's License;
  • Possession of nationally recognised excavator operating certification (preferred);
  • Current Police Clearance; and
  • Provide First Aid (pending site requirements).
