What You'll Do

• Plan, prepare, and cook menu items in accordance with quality, presentation, and taste standards.
• Check the freshness of ingredients and ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Develop, adjust, and refine recipes to improve flavour, variety, and customer satisfaction.
• Portion, garnish, and plate dishes consistently to maintain presentation standards.
• Operate and monitor kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking appliances at the correct temperatures and settings.
• Season, taste, and adjust dishes before service to achieve balanced flavour and quality.
• Plan menus and estimate food requirements to control costs, manage inventory, and minimise waste.
• Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or allergen-free).
• Supervise, train, and assist junior kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

What We're Looking For

• AQF Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations.
• Excellent time management, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Creativity and passion for cooking.
