THE OPPORTUNITY

Location: Lance Creek

Kilcoy Global Foods currently has permanent opportunites for Qualified Maintenance Fitter to join our team in a fast-paced, beef production environment. Work environments will vary from agricultural, production, refrigeration.

YOUR RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Preventative and breakdown maintenance activities, with a strong focus on a preventative approach.
  • Contribution of ideas and input to improved systems, procedures and maintenance.
  • Engage with the production team to optimise the performance of all equipment on a daily basis.
  • Assist in capital and continuous improvement projects as directed.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health and safety.
  • Understand the urgent nature of the business and manage competing priorities.
  • Prioritise urgent repairs of equipment.
  • Understand the importance of troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with contractors as well as other departments regarding reliable maintenance of the various sections of the plant.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant rules, regulations and legislative requirements in the workplace, including quality controls.

REMUNERATION

  • $50-55 per hour

ABOUT YOU

  • Trade qualifications – Certificate III in Engineering as a minimum.
  • Experience in Maintenance Fitter or Fitter-Mechanic role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and great diagnostics for fault finding.
  • Reliable, motivated self-starter.
  • Can-do attitude, focusing on solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills and communication skills.
  • Experience with beef slaughter equipment highly regarded.
  • Downstream processing experience including boning, chilling, packaging, labelling and transfer systems highly regarded.
  • Unlimited working rights within Australia.
  • Driver's licence and reliable vehicle or reliable means of getting to work.
  • Vaccinated (or willing to be) against Q Fever.
