At the Cathedral School we believe music is one of life's fundamental joys. We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished musician to join our Performing Arts team as an Instrumental Music Instructor specialising in Violin and Viola. 

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant school with a strong performing arts culture encompassing Music, Dance and Drama. Our program engages students from Early Learning through to Year 12, fostering creativity and excellence.

About the Role

  • Part-time term-time position (2–3 days per week) commencing on 27th January 2026.
  • Provide high-quality music instruction to students of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Deliver private lessons and support the school's Instrumental Music Program (IMP) and ensembles.
  • Prepare students for performances, competitions, and examinations.
  • Collaborate with staff to organise concerts and events.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor of Music, Music Education, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong performance background in Violin and Viola.
  • Experience in teaching the Violin and Viola.
  • Current Blue Card registration.
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Ability to work with diverse learners and adapt teaching methods.
  • Experience with music technology and varied pedagogical approaches.
