About The Opportunity
Step into a leadership role where you'll supervise operations assistants, coordinate daily tasks, and ensure smooth patient transport across wards, theatres, recovery, and beyond. You'll champion clinical standards — from infection control and hygiene to confidentiality — while fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

As the go to support for the Nurse Manager, you'll monitor staff performance, resolve conflicts, and identify training needs, working closely with the clinical nurse educator to deliver in service education and professional development programs. You'll also play a hands on role in preparing operating tables, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safe practices are followed every step of the way.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervise the day to day work requirements of the operations assistants including allocation of daily tasks and of meal breaks
  • Responsible for monitoring compliance with established clinical standards of practice including Infection Control, personal hygiene, dress code and patient confidentiality
  • Responsible for monitoring staff performance, work attendance and conflict resolution in consultation with the Nurse Manager of Anaesthetics
  • Identify knowledge gaps related to equipment and procedures and with the assistance of the clinical nurse educator plan in-service education as necessary
  • Responsible for the orientation and supervision of the activities of the Operations assistants to ensure their duties and responsibilities are appropriately performed
  • Assist the clinical nurse educator to establish a programme of professional development including mandatory and manual handling training requirements
  • Develop and review safe practices
  • Assist with roster planning and development
  • Responsible for the safe transportation of patients to and from the Wards, Theatres, Recovery, Endoscopy and other areas as required.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the operating table, accessories and other appropriate equipment for positioning of patients according to the scheduled list.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of patient beds or trolleys and the reporting of faults to the appropriate Nurse Unit Manager.
  • Assist the clinical staff with the preparation of deceased patient and with transfer to Mortuary.
  • Coordinate effective workflows to meet demand and escalate any issues to NUM
  • Attend daily AM handover with NUM
