Your new company

Based in the northern suburbs of Hobart, Dominic College is a Catholic, Coeducational College which provides outstanding educational opportunities for students from Kindergarten to Year 10. With over 1100 students, the College prides itself on providing a high level of teaching and learning opportunities to all of their students. Dominic College are looking for a highly capable and organised Senior Finance and Administration Officer to join their team.

Your new role

Working under the direct supervision of the Finance and Administration Manager, your new position will see you accountable for coordinating the efficient and effective delivery of the school's administrative, financial and compliance business services to maintain school processes and routines.

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Establish and maintain systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the school office and delivery of customer service excellence
  • Administer of the School's electronic knowledge portal and workflow applications
  • Coordinate accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
  • Undertake and act on monthly reconciliation of general suspense accounts
  • Prepare and present adhoc reports / submissions and respond to queries
  • Assist with budgeting
  • Support the process and procedures involving payroll
  • Follow up and negotiate a schedule for unpaid school accounts
  • Manages the process and procedures for the issuing and collection of College Fees
  • Any other adhoc finance and administration duties as required

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this position, you will have demonstrated experience in previous administration and finance roles. You will be adaptable, work well autonomously, have excellent communication skills, and be systems savvy. You will also support the School's Catholic values and Salesian ethos.

In addition, you will:
  • Have previous experience within accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support and bank reconciliations.
  • Demonstrated professional integrity, whilst also always upholding a high level of confidentiality, discretion and judgement.
  • Ability to deliver high quality work in a busy environment
As this role is based in the education sector you will need to hold a current Working with Vulnerable People Registration and a satisfactory national police criminal history check.
