About the role

Cafe at Lewers' is seeking a talented and passionate Head Barista to join our team in Emu Plains, NSW. As the Head Barista, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our cafe's bar and beverage service, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and maintaining the highest standards of coffee and drink preparation.

What you'll be doing

  1. Manage and lead a team of baristas, training and developing their skills to deliver consistently excellent coffee and beverages
  2. Oversee the daily operations of the cafe's bar, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, and workflow optimisation
  3. Collaborate with the kitchen team to create innovative beverage offerings that complement the cafe's food menu
  4. Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
  5. Provide exceptional customer service, fostering a welcoming and friendly environment in the cafe
  6. Participate in the development and implementation of new bar and beverage initiatives

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 1 years of experience as a Head Barista or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry
  2. Extensive knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, equipment, and trends
  3. Excellent barista skills, with the ability to consistently produce high-quality coffee and specialty drinks
  4. Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of training and developing barista staff
  5. Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for creating memorable dining experiences
  6. Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings (functions), weekends, and public holidays
