Telecommunications Installation Technicians

National Telecommunications and Electrical contractor seeking

Telecommunications Installation Technicians for work based in Adelaide.

About the role

We have opportunities available for technicians to work on installation and commissioning projects in the exchange and mobile network environment for Australia's leading telecommunications providers.

Work will include some night and out of hours work.

Training in telecommunications installation provided, may suit someone with electrical or structured cabling experience wanting to expand their skillset

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Equipment installation- rack and stack
  • Cable tray installation
  • Optical fibre and copper cable installation, termination and testing
  • DC power and DC earthing installations
  • Data centre installations
  • Equipment commissioning
  • Equipment decommissioning and recovery

Skills and experience

  • Experience working on carrier exchange sites, Telstrsa, Optus , TPG etc
  • Broad range experience in exchange/data centre equipment installation, commissioning and decommissioning
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex design and job scopes and other carrier design packs
  • Ability to be able to work both unsupervised or part of a team
  • Installation of super structure and racks.
  • DC power & earthing DC.
  • Previous DSLAM installation experience advantageous
  • Fibre splicing and Testing experience advantageous
  • Design experience an advantage but not essential
  • Must have a strong commitment to safe work practices, policies, and procedures
