Adelaide SA, Australia Department for Infrastructure and Transport, South Australia Full time $80,000 - $240,000 per year

Department for Infrastructure and Transport

Job reference: 709763

Location: ADELAIDE

Job status: Short Term Contract

Eligibility: Open to Everyone

At the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, we are connecting South Australia to keep our State moving. We are responsible for delivering a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of transformative transport and social infrastructure projects, operating and maintaining thousands of kilometres of roads and managing our city's public transport network.

Our work encompasses every part of our State; from our cities to our regions, connecting and strengthening community. We value diversity and inclusion and foster an environment of collaboration, flexibility, and support for our people. .

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Manager, Community Projects to play a key role in shaping the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) project - the biggest infrastructure initiative in South Australia's history. This is your chance to lead a program that goes beyond roads, focusing on community projects, open spaces, and facilities that will leave a lasting legacy for local neighbourhoods.

In this role, you'll guide a dedicated team, manage community assets and grant programs, and work closely with government, sporting, and community groups to make sure projects deliver real benefits. You'll bring creativity and leadership to embed place-making and community-focused design into major infrastructure, while also influencing policy and contributing to important program reporting and communications.

About you

You're an experienced project manager who knows how to bring people together and get great outcomes. With a background in areas like environmental planning, urban design, or stakeholder engagement, you're confident communicating complex ideas in a clear and respectful way.

You've successfully managed grant funding processes and government submissions, and you're comfortable making strategic, evidence-based decisions - even under pressure. You're also a natural leader who supports your team to perform at their best, while staying focused on the bigger picture.

Most importantly, you're passionate about creating projects that deliver real benefits for communities and stakeholders, and you thrive on working across different disciplines to make it happen.
