About the role:
The Senior Manager Quality Teaching and Learning supports the delivery of high quality education services (by AMES, Partners and Subcontractors) by overseeing and leading the effective planning and implementation of all aspects of course and program curriculum, professional development, quality assurance, performance management, audit coordination, continuous improvement in alignment with ASQA Standards and Delegate Standards, the VET Quality Framework and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
This position acts as a recognised authority for quality teaching and learning across AMES, shaping Portfolio frameworks, standards and practice, and providing authoritative advice to the Executive and Education Management Team.
To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:
- Degree in Education, Education management or similar field; AND
- Minimum of 6 years' experience working in an education environment; including at least 4 years' experience in a quality assurance / curriculum / resource development environment, and a minimum of 3 years in leadership roles (including people management)
- Proven educational leadership in the development, accreditation, delivery and evaluation of accredited courses and qualifications and vocational pathways framed around the diverse needs and aspirations of CALD client groups
- Extensive knowledge of the adult education and employment sectors to effectively drive all education programs to meet the needs of students, industry and communities
- Proven ability to lead development and implementation of frameworks, policy and strategic reform projects in quality teaching and learning
- Demonstrated ability to influence external policy and practice
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to consult, advise and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Highly developed analytical and written communication skills, including development of guidelines, procedures and templates, policy analysis, briefings and management performance reports within required timelines, and maintaining effective manual and electronic records
- Demonstrated high level critical thinking, personal initiative and organisational skills, including the ability to analyse and operationalise complex information, and to prioritise workflows to meet multiple deadlines
- Demonstrated success in effective and efficient quality assurance in the adult education sector
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in quality teaching and learning as well as professional development for the teaching staff in the adult education sector
- Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining systems and procedures supporting quality service delivery
- Strong knowledge of and demonstrated ability to work within ASQA, VET Quality Framework and other relevant regulatory frameworks, standards, procedures and regulatory requirements, as well as established VET networks
- Demonstrated change management skills and ability to deliver quality programs within tight and highly competitive business constraints
- Knowledge of Student Management systems and Learning Management systems
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team to achieve performance targets and lead projects of different scales
- Demonstrated proficiency in academic quality with a track record of leading organisation-wide frameworks
- Governance capability (policy lifecycle, academic risk, KPI dashboards)
- Ability to embed innovation in assessment, curriculum, and digital learning at scale
