Lawyer - Appeals & Crime

- Actively case managing criminal cases to ensure they are progressed efficiently
- Reviewing, analysing and synthesising case material
- Undertaking legal research and analysis
- Preparing orders, legal and factual memoranda, summaries and chronologies
- Providing tailored support to judicial officers and their chambers staff
- Identifying, recommending and helping manage the implementation of revised processes, and identifying policy issues and areas for legislative reform where relevantp
- Providing guidance to court-users
- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to analyse and synthesise voluminous and at times complex material
- Tertiary qualification in law and admitted to practise (note: a current practising certificate is not required)
- Post admission experience in criminal law, and legal writing, is highly desirable
