About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced CNC Operator/Machinist to join our team at A One Tooling and Engineering in Smithfield, NSW. As a casual employee, you will play a crucial role in the production and manufacturing processes, operating state-of-the-art CNC machinery to create high-quality parts and components.

What you'll be doing

  • Operating CNC lathes; Doosan and Mori Seiki and mills and other precision machining equipment to manufacture parts and components to exacting specifications
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and other technical documents to ensure accurate production
  • Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance
  • Working collaboratively with the manufacturing team to identify and implement process improvements
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment

What we're looking for

  • Experience as a CNC Operator, Machinist, Fitter and Turner or Toolmaker, preferably within the manufacturing industry
  • Certificate IV Engineering
  • Tool-making experience advantageous
  • Forklift licence highly regarded
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Proficiency in operating a variety of CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and other precision machining equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot issues and optimise production processes
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and support the overall production goals
