About the role
SA Fluid Power Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking a Fitter, Fitter/Machinist, or similar suitably qualified and experienced person to join our team in Dry Creek, SA. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault finding, repair and servicing of a wide range of hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment. This is a hands-on position that will allow you to utilise your technical skills and expertise across a broad range of equipment and industries. In order to provide great service you will have the autonomy and support to make decisions with our clients that are in their best interest.
Based from our workshop, the position is full time Monday to Friday 0800 to 1600 with overtime and weekend work available. The successful candidate will be required to work on client sites throughout greater Adelaide, the Barossa, and some regional areas as well as in our workshop. Opportunities for interstate and remote travel are also available.
What you'll be doing
- Fault finding and repair of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
- Assessment, diagnosis, repair and testing of hydraulic components
- Installation of hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and servicing on client equipment
- Respond to breakdowns at client sites
- Machining – general lathe and mill work
- Light fabrication and welding commensurate with skill/experience
- Prioritise workflows and respond to changing client needs
- Complete service and maintenance records
- Maintain great client relationships and uphold our company values
- Foster a safe working environment compliant with WHS requirements
What we're looking for
- Relevant trade qualifications
- Experience with a range of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Solid mechanical aptitude
- Strong technical skills in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including the ability to fault find complex circuits, read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to diagnose and resolve machine faults
- Familiarity with machine automation and ability to liaise with other trades regarding complex faults
- Good time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain good client relationships
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively through face to face and written communication
- Valid drivers licence (MR licence or willingness to obtain will be highly regarded)
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Additional qualifications like: restricted electrical licence, rigging/dogging licence, EWP ticket etc. will be highly regarded.
