Leading Hand Carpenter

The Role
Our Client is a highly reputable construction company who specialise in high-end residential homes and commercial projects. They have delivered a number of awarded architectual builds in Sydney and surrounds over the past 15 years.
They are looking for an experienced hands-on Leading Hand Carpenter to join their team to support on projects in north shore locations. Support and training, with good progression within the company offered.
Key Attributes
- Successfully deliver projects from pre-construction through to defect liability, handover and even ongoing maintenance
- This is a hands-on role where you will be both on the tools and overseeing a team of carpenters/ labourers on-site. A desire to want to still be on the tools is essential.
- You will have a passion for high quality building and craftsmanship and will partner daily with the Site Manager and Architects to resolve building design issues during construction.
Core Skill Requirements
- to have a minimum of 1 year experience in a leading hand position;
- Strong track record in architect designed residential construction;
- An understanding of construction detail resolution;
- Experience in doors, locks, windows, metalworks and finishing trades;
- Good knowledge of basic plumbing, mechanical and electrical services;
- Excellent attention to detail, quality and finish;
- Understanding of construction sequences;
- Ability to think through issues and resolve problems;
- Ability to communicate instructions to other team members or sub-trades;
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment;
- to be well presented, with strong time management skills, excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn and teach
- High degree of English proficiency;
- Works well both in a team and independently, always seeing tasks through to completion;
- to be available while site is open Monday to Saturday;
- Australian working rights.
