About the role

  • Visit assigned centres regularly to speak with children and young people, staff, and management.
  • Record and report on complaints, enquiries, and the general centre environment.
  • Facilitate the resolution of issues at the local level where possible.
  • Submit reports to the Minister, Inspector of Custodial Services, and relevant authorities.
