About The Role
The Senior Practitioner FDR will work with the FDR Practice Manager to provide day-to-day operational and clinical support, expertise and guidance to a team of FDR Practitioners, working collaboratively to ensure integrated practice and enhance outcomes for separating families.
Some Of Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Support, Mentor, and Empower: Provide expert support, feedback, and guidance to FDR practitioners, helping ensure services are delivered effectively, compassionately, and in line with best practices and legal obligations.
- Strategic Insights & Specialist Advice: Partner closely with the Practice Manager, offering timely, well-informed, strategic input on service delivery, team performance, and quality assurance.
- Service Delivery: Maintain your own caseload and facilitate dispute resolution in parenting and property matters, bringing professionalism, empathy, and respect to every interaction.
- Skills Development & Clinical Leadership: Participate in—and occasionally lead—clinical supervision sessions (both individually and in groups), fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Accurate Data & Funding Compliance: Ensure all data collection aligns with internal policies and funder requirements, using reporting tools to maintain transparency and accountability.
- Ongoing Professional Development: Stay current with evolving best practices in family law, child protection, and domestic and family violence. Translate insights into practice to drive better outcomes for clients.
About You
To be a successful candidate you will have:
- Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences (such as psychology & social work) and/or law
- Demonstrated ability to build and leverage relationships across multi-functional or multi-disciplinary teams to achieve agreed objectives
- Demonstrated capacity to deliver a person-centred, strengths-based service
- Demonstrated ability to successfully support a high-performing team and maintain a positive workplace culture
- Demonstrated understanding of family law, child protection, domestic and family violence and other relevant legislation as required
- Strong organisational skills, including the capacity for critical thinking and a systemic approach to prioritisation
- Demonstrated competency in the use of technology to deliver client services and utilise client management systems
- Demonstrated experience and skills in working with Cultural and Linguistically Diverse Communities and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities
- Demonstrated high-level verbal and written communication skills.
