About the role
As a Medical Scientist, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, multi-disciplined pathology services within our regional laboratory. Working as part of a skilled and collaborative team, you will apply your scientific and technical expertise to perform a variety of routine diagnostic techniques that directly contribute to patient care. This role offers the opportunity to actively participate in problem solving, planning, execution, analysis and reporting, ensuring accuracy and reliability in laboratory outcomes.
Under supervision, you will also have the chance to contribute to the development, selection and implementation of new methodologies and techniques, helping to advance the capability of our service. This is an exciting opportunity to further your professional growth while making a meaningful impact in a regional healthcare setting, where your work will support clinicians and improve health outcomes for the community.
About You
You are a motivated and detail-oriented professional with the skills and knowledge to deliver accurate diagnostic testing and contribute to a high-quality pathology service. You bring relevant qualifications, scientific expertise and a strong team focus, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy laboratory environment.
- Hold an appropriate qualification in pathology science as defined by NPAAC
- Demonstrated ability to perform diagnostic testing with accuracy and precision
- Strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with laboratory equipment, software and quality procedures

Statewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS) is a unique public healthcare organisation that serves health consumers and provides specialist clinical services to the health system in South Australia. SCSS encompasses BreastScreen SA, SA Dental, SA Medical Imaging, SA Pathology, and SA Pharmacy.
