Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Overview

We are looking for Paediatric OT's to join our amazing team in Bassendean.

The Role:

Job Description - We are looking for OT's to work with our paediatric population to help them meet their goals and aid in their development.

Your role will be to assess, provide recommendations and person-centered interventions to help people progress towards their goals.

Specific duties include - assessments, report writing, and providing direct service intervention sessions. We provide services at our offices in Bassendean, out in the community and in the home.

Essential Criteria:

• Confidence working with children.
• Excellent communication and personal skills.
• Time management including prioritization, self-management and stress management..
• The energy and desire to provide the highest level of service for others
• WA Drivers License
• Working with Children's Check (or willing to obtain) if required
• National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)
• First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check

We are a private OT practice which prides itself on providing exceptional, person-centered care to our clients. We value providing excellent care, flexible services to suit client needs and personalized services to our clients and their families.  We work with people of all ages and all disabilities, with OT's encouraged to shape their caseloads to suit their interests. We provide services either in the office, at the home or community areas. As an OT only practice we are able to assist in developing OT specific knowledge, fostering peer learning and focusing on what we do best

We Focus On Our OT's

We encourage all of our OT's to actively help to shape their caseload, work within their areas of interest as well as develop their knowledge and skills outside their current client base.  Across our staff (between 8-15 OT's) we have opportunities to work in and develop knowledge in:

• Early Intervention - across a range of disabilities including sensory, behavioural, physical
• Daily Living Skills
• Behaviour Management
• Animal Assisted Therapy
• Assistance Dog Assessments

Professional Development OT's

Cornwall House OT has close ties with a number of companies and offers in-house (paid for) Professional Development Opportunities, as well contacts/links with external Professional Development Opportunities. Cornwall House also provides a PD Budget to be used on PD's of the OT's choice.

Cornwall House also offers in-house supervision for all OT's, as well sourcing external supervisors for Senior OT's.
