Looking for a Senior Solution Architect to support a major core banking initiative at a leading bank. The focus is on designing and delivering integrations that feed data and services from the existing core banking system into a newly launched modern business banking application (replacing the legacy app). This is not a full core banking migration but a strategic integration to enable real-time data flow, enhanced functionality, and superior client experience on the business banking side.

Competitive contract day rate on offer and looking towards a Jan 2026 start. 

Sydney hybrid role. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead integration architecture to securely feed data (accounts, transactions, compliance, etc.) from the core banking platform to the new business banking app.
  • Define API strategies, data mappings, and integration patterns in collaboration with development, product, and business teams.
  • Select and implement appropriate integration technologies (e.g., APIs, event streaming, ETL, message queues).
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations, security standards, and high-availability requirements.
  • Perform architecture reviews, risk assessments, and performance tuning.
  • Build POCs/prototypes and guide implementation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the team.
  • Support post-go-live monitoring, troubleshooting, and future enhancements.

Essential Requirements
 

  • 8+ years in solution architecture, with 5+ years in banking/financial services.
  • Proven experience integrating core banking systems (e.g., Temenos, Finacle, Mambu, or similar) with modern digital platforms.
  • Strong expertise in APIs (REST/GraphQL), event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and microservices.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, real-time streaming, and security/compliance in regulated environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and ability to translate complex technical solutions for non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
