About the Opportunity

The Sexual Health Assault Service (SAS) Aboriginal Health Worker (AHW) supports the provision of culturally responsive care to Aboriginal clients accessing Sexual Assault Counselling Services. The position works collaboratively with SAS clinicians to ensure the cultural, therapeutic and psychosocial needs of Aboriginal clients are supported through a holistic approach to service provision. The position will also play a key role in supporting the establishment of relationships with Aboriginal communities and organisations to improve access to sexual assault counselling services for Aboriginal people. This will include developing and implementing a range of community-based education, health promotion and prevention projects.

What You'll be Doing

Where You'll Be Working

SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.

These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.

With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.
