The Opportunity
As a Project Safety Manager at RCC, you will work closely with senior levels of the business to achieve safe outcomes for all workers, the business operations and objectives, and our client.
- Safety Program Leadership - Provide strategic leadership for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs.
- Manage, direct and hold accountable all RCC project personnel to ensure that objectives and targets, as set out in the Project Management plan, are monitored, achieved and/or exceeded. These include safety objectives.
- Compliance Assurance - Oversee and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards. Conduct regular reviews and audits to assess compliance levels.
- Incident Management - Oversee the investigation of safety incidents and near misses. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address root causes.
- Risk Assessment and Management - Lead the identification and assessment of risks associated with construction projects. Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate threats.
- Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety processes and performance.
- Communication and Training - Communicate safety expectations, initiatives, and updates.
- Participate in 'Risk Workshops' to identify WHS opportunity and risk
- Run project team meetings raising specific safety concerns
- A personal commitment to implementing a safe, injury free, construction site is fundamental to the role
- Education & Experience– Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Sector Experience– Proven experience in safety management in the construction industry.
- Skills & Expertise– Familiarity with safety management systems and their implementation. Previous involvement in safety training, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Attention to Detail– In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.
- Team Player– Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, project managers, and external stakeholders.
