High Voltage Electrician

About the Role

At Rayo, our Electrical Tradespeople are at the heart of what we do. You'll play a critical role in the construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of high voltage infrastructure, working as part of a skilled and supportive crew.

Safety and teamwork are the foundations of this role. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality technical outcomes while ensuring all work is carried out to the highest safety standards. The position covers a wide range of activities, including maintenance, construction, and commissioning of high-voltage assets that keep energy flowing reliably to communities and customers across Australia.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Maintaining, constructing, testing and commissioning high-voltage primary and secondary assets
• Performing inspection, maintenance, construction, and fault-finding activities on substation switchgear, transformers, protection schemes, relays, and associated equipment.
• Carrying out HV switching of primary plant
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals
• Working across multiple locations across Australia.

Who are we looking for?

• Experienced tradespeople who can hit the ground running, with:

• General knowledge and experience in maintaining HV primary and secondary assets across transmission, distribution, and generation systems

• Solid expertise in at least one of the following areas: switchgear, protection systems, transformers, SCADA, or site leadership – with a willingness to continue developing capability across the others
• Motivated individuals who may be early in their electrical careers but are eager to learn and grow into high-voltage specialists

You'll need:

• SA Electrical Trade Certificate & Worker Registration (or be working towards it)
• White Card
• SA Driver's Licence

Great to have (but not essential):

• HV Switching Operator Accreditation (Cat 2)
• EWP or Forklift tickets
• Working at heights
• First Aid & CPR
