Formed in 2012 by a group of irrigators to ensure a fair and transparent platform for trading irrigation water entitlements, Water Partners is 100% Australian owned and operated. Membership is free and accessible to all, and we provide several trusted trading exchange platforms, products, and services.

Role Description

This is a part time role for an Independent Board Director l with our office located in Kyabram, VIC. The Independent Board Director will oversee the strategic direction of the organization, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and actively participate in board meetings. This role involves providing independent judgment, collaborating with other board members, reviewing financial and operational performance, and ensuring that the organisation adheres to its mission and values.

Qualifications

• Experience in corporate governance, strategic planning, and board management
• Knowledge of the water industry, specifically irrigation and water trading
• Financial acumen and the ability to interpret financial statements and reports
• Certified Practising Accountant - qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Business
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and other board members
• Highly ethical and transparent decision-making abilities
• Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements for Not-For-Profit organizations
• Previous board experience and demonstrated ability to add value to an organization
