About the role

Starting Salary - $115,173 + Super

as you work through the relevant skills training and qualifications, you will progress through the REM and Classification Framework accordingly

TasNetworks are seeking an efficient and experienced EHV Operator to join our Field Operations team in North-West Tasmania. Working towards safe and timely outcomes undertaking works in transmission network, operating, construction and maintenance, the EHV Operator is responsible for -

  • Preparation of operational plan sheets for the execution of works
  • Operating and monitor Extra High Voltage (EHV) equipment, ensuring the reliable and efficient transmission of electrical power
  • Conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance on EHV equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards
  • Responding promptly to equipment alarms and perform corrective actions to minimize downtime
  • Collaborating with other teams/contractors to schedule and execute works to EHV systems.
  • Keeping accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and incidents for reporting and analysis purposes
  • Providing leadership to team members, driving continuous improvement objectives to ensure best practice outcomes
  • Participating in an on-call roster for fault and emergency repair

About you

You will hold an Electrical Technician licence with a positive 'can do' approach to your work. Your ability to work independently across various job sites in a safe and timely manner with a focus on continuous improvement and compliance with PSI & AP is required.

Your knowledge of the Electrical Safety Code, Workplace Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation coupled with an ability to think on your feet and solve problems will see you succeed in this role.

You will have experience preparing operational and maintenance reports, handling conflict situations and adapting to a dynamic, changing workload.
