SAP Technical Architect

About the role:
Aurizon's SAP Technology team is seeking an experienced SAP Technical Architect to support the ongoing management and optimisation of our SAP environments across both on-premise and cloud landscapes.

In this pivotal role, you'll provide technical leadership and administration support across the SAP landscape, with a strong focus on environment planning, scheduling, and readiness for the SAP S/4HANA program. You'll partner with project and technical teams to ensure system stability, performance, and compliance, while driving continuous improvement across our SAP operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform SAP technical administration and support activities across on-premise and cloud environments to support the SAP S/4HANA program.
• Plan, schedule and manage environment refreshes, upgrades and readiness activities in alignment with project milestones.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, including system faults, transport clashes, performance bottlenecks and data integrity issues.
• Lead environment-related change initiatives (patching, upgrades, transport governance) and drive automation and standardisation.
• Coordinate cutover and production readiness activities to ensure smooth transitions to operations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Basis, Infrastructure, Testing, Security, Cloud) to ensure technical alignment and risk mitigation.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures and processes to enhance technical efficiency and governance.

About you

You're an experienced SAP professional who thrives in complex technical environments and enjoys partnering with others to deliver robust and reliable system outcomes. You'll bring:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a SAP technical role, including planning, provisioning, integration and environment refreshes (mandatory).
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors (highly desirable).
• Proven experience working in a multi-partner environment, coordinating across vendors, integrators and internal teams to achieve successful outcomes.
• Strong ability to analyse and mitigate SAP technical risks and identify improvements.
• High-level interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to work effectively with business and technology stakeholders.
• A collaborative, customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive continuous improvement.
