We are seeking an experienced
Technical Services Engineer
for a key technical role to maintain and develop our clients on-premises infrastructure and applications. You will be supporting unique defence applications for multiple customers to maintain the availability and security of their service.

Bungendore is a 35 minutes' drive from Canberra. A car will be required. This is a 5 days onsite role.

About You
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Maintain, monitor and alert services within the on-premise infrastructure and provide technical guidance during new technologies initiatives
  • Work within a team as an established systems/product/security specialist to support end users.
  • Follow established processes, releasing to the change control process verified, validated and documented enhancements to eliminate problems and proactively develop the service.
  • Recognize opportunities to improve performance against Service Level. Act as a point of escalation for other team members to resolve service delivery issues.
  • Works within the team or under guidance from the project manager with implementation of technical designs to meet service delivery requirements within own area of responsibility.
  • Take ownership in obtaining the information, evidence and data required to diagnose and resolve more complex problems (new and known), Escalates or gains support where appropriate.
  • Proactively analyse trends and reports on information (e.g. on performance service levels) in a timely manner to resolve problems, maintain and enhance service.
  • Understand the requirements of the customers business, the scope of the contract and knows how issues impact the delivery of service. Recognizes and reports opportunities for additional business.

Requirements And Experience

  • AGSVA Security Clearance essential. NV2 minimum. TSPV ideal
  • Similar experience within Defence or Government
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows Server Operating systems.
  • Experience in Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, Windows Update Services, and TCP/IP.
  • Experience in virtualisation technologies, dependencies, and corresponding management tools such as Hyper-V, Switch Embedded Teaming, Failover Cluster Manager, and SC-VMM.
  • Experience in load balancing technologies such as Kemp.
  • Experience in Storage Management such as SAN/NAS and RAID configurations.
  • Experience of Backup and disaster recovery methodologies using tools such as NetBackup.
  • Hold a level of working knowledge for PowerShell to automate administrative tasks and processes.
  • Holds an understanding of hardware management including Installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical servers, server racks, cabling, and local power management.
  • Experience in Defence or Government highly desirable
