  • Ensure compliance with relevant defence and industry standards for safety, reliability, and performance (e.g., MIL-STD, AS standards).
  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews and contribute to architecture decisions affecting overall product integration and lifecycle support.
  • Support integration and troubleshooting activities during product commissioning, trials, and customer acceptance processes.
  • Document designs, calculations, analysis, and test results to support certification and long-term product support.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years experience in electromechanical product development, preferably in the defence, aerospace, or high-reliability sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design, control systems, sensors, actuators, and embedded electronics.
  • Proficient in CAD and simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks, MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS) and integration with control and firmware systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software is essential for this position.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams with software, electronics, and systems engineers.
  • Understanding of embedded hardware interfaces and control algorithms.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting electromechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant defence standards and quality assurance practices is highly desirable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
