About Us

Marine Structures is an Australian family-owned and operated business, with a 36-year history in the marine construction industry. Our products range from residential leisure pontoons and decks to state government ferry terminals, marinas, walk/cycleways, boardwalks, and floating walkway infrastructure.

The Role

Due to the increase in sales, we require a Concreter-Factory General Hand who is motivated to learn, work in a team environment, enjoys physical tasks and exhibits attention to detail needed for our high-quality finished products. Reporting to the Supervisor of the Pontoon section, the ideal candidate has a cross-section of trades expertise to complete the high-quality finish our product demands. First and foremost, you have a solid concrete trade background and have exposure to or are open to developing your skillset to include plastic welding, logistics, stock control, carpeting, and fit-out.

We are prepared to mentor the right candidates and further development.

Daily tasks:

·       Setting and aligning concrete forms

·       Ensure all levels, depth and pitch are to plan

·       Place reinforcing to plan

·       Ensure concrete is to specification

·       Screed and level concrete

·       Carry out other tasks as instructed by the Pontoon Supervisor including:

o   Basic carpentry

o   Loading and unloading trucks

o   Cleaning

o   Plastic welding

o   Painting

o   Steel fixing

o   Carpet and Buffer fixing.

Attributes required:

  • Trade qualified
  • Proven ability to read and interpret plans
  • The ability to use multiple hand tools
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Willing to learn and perform multiple tasks within the factory
  • Strong commitment to Safety and Quality.

Preferred:

  • Manual drivers licence
  • Construction white card
  • Ideally have had basic carpentry experience.
