Nurse Manager

Provide advanced clinical care, leadership and direction to clinicians within the Child and Youth Mental Health Service multi-disciplinary Access Team.

Please note: this position can also be filled by an Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Social Worker or Speech Pathologist as per the attached Role Description.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Manager (Mental Health – Access) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Provide efficient and responsive mental health care, utilising advanced level of knowledge, and skills in the area of clinical practice
• Develop a dynamic, flexible, resilient and skilled workforce
• Coordinate, formulate and direct policies relating to the provision of mental health care or disciplinary specific specialty services which includes integration of consumer care across the continuum of care
• Lead the integration of the key objectives from the Strategic/Operational plans into service delivery

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
• A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
• Driver Licence
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Temporary full time (11 months with the possibility of extension)
• Base salary ranging from $ – per fortnight

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) Access Team is a community based service for children and young people aged 0-18 years and their families in the Gold Coast region who are experiencing severe / complex psychological, emotional and/or behavioural problems
