In this role you will form a key part of the Griffith Automation & Digitisation team who deliver and support high-quality public-facing and internal solutions which drive meaningful outcomes across the organisation.
Drive dynamic development by leveraging cutting-edge frameworks and tools, while keeping sight of goals through effective use of Atlassian Jira, Agile sprint methodologies, and frequent product showcases to your customers.
We're launching a major container re-platforming project through the rest of 2025—help us test, fix issues, and deploy migrated code to production.

Key Responsibilities
You will enjoy working with a variety of business partners, technical staff and leaders across the organisation to maintain and deliver PHP technical solutions. In this role, you will play a vital part in migrating, maintaining and enhancing technical solutions that directly empower and support our staff and students in their day-to-day activities.
Additionally, you will carry out the following roles and responsibilities:
- Support 45+ systems, apps & forms through platform migration
- Support existing systems, apps & forms in production through assessment and implementation of change requests and bug fixes
- Emphasise testing by compiling test cases, overseeing the process, and ensuring thorough coverage.
- Represent the Griffith Automation & Digitisation team when interacting with external and internal stakeholders & customers for requirement analysis and update of existing apps through change requests
- Keep up-to-date documentation as required in an agile setting
About you
- Strong experience with PHP and desirable knowledge of frameworks such as Symfony and Laravel.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and application deployment on Kubernetes is desirable.
- Proficiency in Git and experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines is desirable.
- Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and optimise PHP applications in production.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate effectively when required.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience and/or education/training is required.
- Industry certification in the software development world is desired
Candidates must have unrestricted Australian work rights; sponsorship is not available. The successful candidate may be subject to a National criminal history check.
What we can offer
This is a fixed term, until 2 October 2026, position based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) or Griffith University Gold Coast (with at least 1 day per week at Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.
HEW 7 salary range of $101,068 - $109,496 per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
