Morena Barra have a relaxed outlook, celebrating the cantina spirit or bar culture of Latin America across an a la carte menu.

About the role:

This hands-on role is perfect for a Chef who is ready to take the next step in their career. Someone who wants to better utilise their culinary skills and develop managerial capabilities.

The key responsibility of this role is managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, with a focus on developing the team, staff training, achieving targeted food and wage costs while maintaining a high standard of food quality, hygiene & presentation.

You will be required to work a flexible and rotating roster across a 7 day week of operation, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

About you:

This is the perfect role for someone who will relish the opportunity to grow within a respectful work environment, someone who maintains high standards and is driven by the success of themselves and others.The ideal candidate will lead by example, be professional, and have great organisational and communication skills, willing to coach and mentor the team and work alongside the Head chef to deliver an amazing experience.

You will have exemplary people management skills, clear and concise communication and a sound understanding of OHS and WHS regulations. You will offer quality and consistency throughout every service with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

About Us:

Established in 2021 by celebrated Melbourne-based Peruvian chef Alejandro Saravia, Renascence Group operate three restaurants, two in Melbourne, one in Sydney and more on the way.

Morena Sydney in the heart of Martin place, is a 200 seat venue showcases a diverse range of cuisines from across Latin American cultures. Our goal is to elevate Australia's engagement with Latin America, whilst staying true to the flavours and techniques that represent Latin cuisine, the fine dining venue is a first for Sydney.

Our Melbourne restaurants focus on provenance and sustainability. Our flagship restaurant Farmer's Daughters heroes the Gippsland region and preserves the proud tradition of local farmers and producers, delivering their delicious produce direct to the heart of Melbourne.
