Embedded Engineer to work in a cutting edge international fintech firm.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Tertiary qualification (Bachelor's or higher) in IT, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics, or closely related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in a relevant field or 5 years of hobby experience with microcontrollers, C/C++, Python, or other languages.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded hardware (e.g., STM32, ESP, Arduino, ARM, other custom microcontroller platforms).
  • Proficient in embedded software/firmware development using C, C++, or other languages such as C#, Java, JavaScript, Python.
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller peripherals and communication protocols.
  • Demonstrated expertise in integrating BLE, Wi-Fi, 4G, LoRa, Zigbee for IoT devices.
  • Understanding of IoT-specific communication and network protocols (e.g., MQTT, IP addressing, TCP/IP, DNS).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT).
  • Proficient in PCB design.
  • Create prototypes and test specifications, undertaking hardware testing.
  • Design, implement, and test embedded systems and electronics.
  • Develop new products and maintain existing designs.
  • Perform complex fault finding and repairs, generate schematics and PCB CAD files.
  • Ability to design harness/wiring and maintain tools, utilities, scripting, and documentation.
  • As part of your Developer role, you will also spend 20% of your day supporting clients (about 5 calls a day).
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills is required for this role.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
  • Open and willing to learn new technologies and programs with an eagerness to stay hands-on and ahead of the curve.
  • 40 hours per week
