THE OPPORTUNITY

Here at Norweld, we are continuing to grow our team to keep up with customer demand This means we have an exciting new opportunity for a Qualified Automotive Painter to join our team in Hillcrest, Brisbane. You'll enjoy a great work/life balance with a 4-day week and no weekend work, in a new, clean work environment. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering top quality results using 2-PAC automotive paint on aluminium tray and canopy components for high-end vehicle builds. You will be required to maintain a high level of safety, reliability and operational performance to ensure customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities will include:


• Carrying out spray paint activities on aluminium tray and canopy components, in a spray booth environment


• Ensuring surfaces are prepped prior to ensure proper adhesion of paint


• Mixing paints, primers, and other finishing products to the correct specifications, ensuring proper colour match and consistency


• Overseeing the drying process, ensuring that the paint cures properly for durability


• Inspecting the work for imperfections, including runs, bubbles, or uneven areas, and correct them


• Carrying out inspections and quality control throughout the paint process


• Maintaining workplace cleanliness and tool and equipment care


• Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time, meeting safety and production targets, to the highest standards


• Identifying, assessing and controlling workplace hazards


• Ensuring the health and safety of all customers, visitors and team members

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate will have:


•  Trade certificate and/or relevant experience


•  Excellent quality of work and time management skills


•  Current licenses and certificates (including Australian Drivers Licence)


•  Strong, ongoing commitment to workplace health & safety


•  Good written and verbal communication skills


•  Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-skilled team environment


•  Sound knowledge of 4x4 Makes, Models and popular accessories and brands (desirable)


•  Passion for the outdoors, off-roading and camping is a plus
