About Project Bluebird
Now, we're embarking on something extraordinary.
Our Ballarat site marks a bold new chapter. We're building a state-of-the-art flour mill in Ballarat—designed to redefine industry standards in milling technology, systems, and process optimisation. This greenfield site will be powered by cutting-edge Swiss equipment and driven by a passionate team committed to excellence from day one.
This is your opportunity to be part of a once-in-a-generation transformation—building deep knowledge of a site from the ground up, shaping scalable operations, and helping define the future of flour milling in Australia.
At Mauri, we're not just building a mill. We're building a culture—one that's Safe, Courageous, Trusting, and Collaborative. If you're ready to make a lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
We are hiring two Reliability Fitters to join a lean, high-performing team responsible for commissioning and maintaining some of the most advanced milling technology in the country. This is a hands-on, digitally focused role that blends electrical and mechanical expertise with a passion for automation, optimisation, and continuous learning.
You'll work closely with the builder during installation, gaining deep insight into the control systems and infrastructure. From wiring and sensors to PLCs and data-driven diagnostics, you'll be at the heart of how the site runs and improves over time.
You'll be responsible for:
- Supporting the commissioning of electrical and control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and industrial sensors
- Performing preventative and corrective maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems
- Diagnosing faults, chasing data, and using control systems to drive performance
- Collaborating with contractors and suppliers to manage outsourced work
- Contributing to system optimisation, automation upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participating in call-back and weekend coverage as part of a lean, agile team
About you
We're looking for someone who thrives in transformation and large-scale change.
Dual trade candidates will be preferred, although applicants with a strong mechanical background and a willingness to work in a digitally advanced environment will be considered.
The suitable candidate will possess:
- A dual-trade background or strong mechanical understanding alongside electrical qualifications
- A restricted electrical licence is preferred for non-dual trade applicants
- Experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, and automation in a manufacturing environment
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for learning and digital systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and with external partners
What's on offer at Mauri?
- A genuine focus on personal development.
- A culture that celebrates diversity and authenticity.
- A chance to make a lasting impact in a legacy-defining project
