Head Barista

An exciting opportunity exists to be instrumental in the future growth and success of Zoie Café, which is an integral part of the iconic Scarborough Beach precinct.

Zoie has a strong coffee focus with our signature blend (Zoie#5). We were awarded Restaurant Guru's Best Coffeehouse in Scarborough for 2022 and have many regular, loyal customers. We are therefore looking for someone who can uphold our coffee reputation with top notch skills behind the machine and who is also a great people leader - someone who can coach and inspire our team of Baristas to grow their skills and confidence.

The role includes:

· Maintaining consistency in coffee preparation and grinder calibration.

· Caring for and maintaining coffee machines and other drinks equipment – always keeping things clean and organised and upholding food safety and hygiene standards.

· Creating a warm, welcoming vibe for our customers.

· Ensuring things run smoothly – monitoring stock, ordering from suppliers and maintaining and building supplier relationships.

· Selection, training, rostering, supervising and developing Front of House staff in consultation with our Manager.

· Opening and closing the café, involving till reconciliation and recording financial performance.

· Jumping in with fresh ideas for new drinks and ways to lift our customers' experience.

This job is 40hrs over five days a week and does include some weekend work.
